Last Week To Enter
Enter Now - Don't Delay
If you live in the Pacific, are an unsigned, unpublished musician, there is now only one week remaining to submit your best original song for inclusion into this year’s Pacific Break competition.
Entries officially close on September the 1st and with the promise of playing live at Fest’napuan in Vanuatu as the winning prize, response to this year’s Pacific Break competition has been more active than previous years.
Over the course of this year’s competition Pacific Break has cast its Pacific net further and wider than it has before, connecting the competition to territories like Palau, Saipan and Pohnpei for the first time in its quest to discover the best unsigned musicians the Pacific has to offer.
A diverse range of musical styles from a range of influences has once again emerged with everything from Justin Bieber inspired pop to traditional roots and reggae and heavy metal rock music.
Pacific Break co-ordinator Sally McMahon said, “It’s been great to see that musicians who have entered their music in previous years have been sending in their latest creations for Pacific Break 2010.
Last year’s winner, Emmanuel Mailau and 2008 favourite Samantha Clark are back in 2010 for another shot at the major prize. It will be exciting to see who is chosen as this year’s winner of Pacific Break with so many talented Pacific musicians vying for the title.”
Radio Australia’s Pacific Break competition is now in its third year of operation and continues to grow across the Pacific, working in close association with festival partners Fest 'Napaun in Vanuatu.
“Pacific Break provides a musical connection with audiences from across the Pacific and an authentic opportunity for unsigned, unpublished original musicians to have their music heard,” said Radio Australia’s Chief Executive Dr. Mike McCluskey.
