Gospel & Religious Music

1,000 + Gospel Artists

Zion Fest began in 2002, purposely to accommodate Gospel and religious musical artists in collaboration within the Fest’Napuan event.  Since then, Zion Fest has now become a major and the biggest local gospel festival that draws over 20 gospel artists and bands in one single festival annually, and have staged over 1000 local and international gospel artists.

Pop, Choir, Accapela, String Band, Theater Dancing and Drama

Zion Fest is always hosted in collaboration with Fest’Napuan annually, because it shares the resources and assistance provided by the Fest’Napuan.

The prime purpose of Zion Fest is to bring all the talents in the gospel music arena together and share the talents, and taking advantage of the facility and the crowd of Fest’Napuan, to  stage and expose local gospel artists.  It is vitally important to host Zion Fest because about 60% of the local talented musical artists are in the Gospel arena.

At the Zion Fest, all different styles of music and performances are performed, including pop, choir, accapela, string band and theater dancing and drama, that attracts over 3,000 audience annually.

Since 2002, the Zion Fest have also staged international artists, such as “Mena Muria Band” from Maluku, “Potters House Artists” from US, “Screaming Jamaican” from Australia, “Elena Baravilala” from Fiji, “Jah n I”  from the Solomon Islands, “Tabura” from West Papua and Vanuatu Icon, Vanessa Quai.

The impact that Zion Fest has on the music industry in Vanuatu, has obviously show that there is an increase local talents from the Gospel market in Vanuatu, new artists and bands have rise up, and more artists from the circular market have now show more interest in the Gospel market.

Zion Fest 2011

Zion Fest 2011 will stage 25 gospel artists and groups in particularly from Port Vila, including  “Reedeem band” from Luganville, Santo, and “Omomo Faramota” a Choir group from New Caledonia, and “Davu” a  Reggae R&B artist from the Solomon Islands.  It is anticipated the audience for the Zion Fest 2011 will increase by 5%.
